over the last two days about the locations of Britain's happiest and fattest people. It seems the happiest people live in a rural area of mid Wales and the fattest people are in the Shetlands.

If you check it out you will see that Dundee comes a lowly 263 out of 273! Cheer up - it could be worse. Glasgow is 268th. The BBC website also carries a report of the study here.
The distribution of obesity across Britain is similarly interesting. While it is harder to see patterns in Scotland, in England there is definitely a fatter north and west and a leaner south and east.

Also note that map indicates that the happiest place (Powys) also comes into the fattest group? I have not looked at the other happy places - but does it hold that happy people are generally chunkier?
