This bit of advertising by Starbucks caught my eye while I was waiting for my flight to Rome a couple of weeks ago. "Would you like chocolate on your cappucino?" "No thanks but I'd like to take a photo of your board".......
It is widely accepted that the flavour of wines are dictated by the varied environments in which grapes are grown but Starbucks are now encouraging us to think about the geography of coffee.
The coffee beans which they use come from three quite different regions of the world - Latin America, Africa/Arabia and Asia/Pacific. The environment of each region (mainly its climate and soils) give the coffees distinctive flavours. If you click on the image, you will link to a page with some interactive information about the geography of coffee.
