The penguins are back!

As I was telling Form 1 just the other day, my favourite webcam is the one on South Georgia in the South Atlantic. It is a great way to watch the passing seasons in a tundra environment. Only last week there was still snow on the beach and sea ice in the bay. An added attraction, however, is that from now until about March (i.e. during the Antarctic summer), you can watch the comings and goings of seals and penguins on the beach. here is the view about an hour ago.....And here, half an hour ago, the same penguins and fat seal having a doze in the evening sun! And here, just a few minutes ago, the sun has gone down and it looks like they're off to bed!You can check out the webcam any time at http://www.sgisland.org/pages/webcam.htm .
