Pole of Inaccessibility is wrongly named!

A British team, led by a Canadian guide, entered the record books on Friday by being the first to reach the Pole of Inaccessibility in Antarctica without any mechanical assistance.

The Pole of Inaccessibility is the point on the Antarctic continent which is furthest from the coast. It was first reached in 1958 by a Russian team using vehicles. A statue of Lenin at the Pole marks their achievement. The British team used only skis and kites to cover the 1093 miles.
