How the other half lives...

A couple of images showing the contrasts of fortune in south American cities...

The first in Caracas, Venezuela where a highway separates the high rise middle class dwellings from the squatter settlements or 'barios'

The second is even more striking - a garden wall is all that separates an apartment for the wealthy in Sao Paulo from a 'favela', ironically called 'Paraisopolos (Paradise City).
