First it was Live Aid, then it was Live 8 and now it's going to be Live Earth. On the 7th July concerts across the globe (UK, China, Australia, South Africa, USA, Brazil, Japan and Antarctica) will raise awareness of the threat of global warming. The plans were announced yesterday by ex-US Vice President Al Gore, whose global warming film 'An Inconvenient Truth' is up for two Oscars. More than 100 of the world's top musicians will perform at the series of worldwide concerts. If you want to find up who have 'signed up', click on the image.
Some more good news on the climate change front is that leading politicians from across the world signed up yesterday in Washington to a new agreement on global warming. Developing countries such as China and India have now committed to curbing their CO2 emissions. Their failure to do so in the past has always given the USA an excuse for not being more carbon conscious so this is really good news. You can read more about it here.
